Why we built DriveMet

The most common problem car owners face is walking into a workshop with no idea what a fair price looks like, then accepting the first number quoted. DriveMet exists to fix exactly that: know the part's price range and the standard labour hours before you go, so you can discuss the invoice from information instead of guesswork.

Who runs the site

DriveMet is an independent project run by Saeed Jamal, who is the final editorial owner of everything published here. It is not a repair business or a workshop broker, and there is no sales team. Direct contact: info@drivemet.com, usually answered within two business days.

What you will find here

• Repair cost tools: enter the vehicle and the fault or symptoms to get a price range (parts + labour).
• Dedicated cost pages for common parts (battery, brake pads, water pump and more) with a real calculator, not just prose.
• Brand-by-brand maintenance schedules, OBD2 fault-code explanations, and fuel, tire, and performance calculators.
• A garage dashboard for your vehicles: service history and costs, service-due reminders, and manufacturer recall alerts.

Where the numbers come from

Vehicle data, VIN decoding, and recalls come from the official NHTSA vPIC databases; reference fuel-economy figures from the EPA data set; fault-code definitions from the SAE J1979 standard. Parts and labour costs are aggregated market ranges, always shown low-to-high: the low end assumes aftermarket parts at an independent shop, the high end OEM parts at a dealership. Independence and funding

DriveMet is not affiliated with any dealer, manufacturer, or repair shop, and we take no commission for sending you to a service provider. The site is funded by display advertising only; ads never influence our figures or recommendations and are never presented as editorial content.

The limits of what we provide

Every figure here is guidance, not a quote or a certified diagnosis; the real price shifts with your city, the shop, part availability, and the vehicle's condition. For anything safety-related — brakes, airbags, critical engine faults, recalls — treat the site as a starting point for understanding only, and make the decision after a hands-on inspection and a written quote.
