Who writes the content

Content is produced by the DriveMet editorial team. The site owner (Saeed Jamal) is the final editorial owner. Drafting and review use automated tooling followed by a human review of every page before publication. We do not attribute content to experts or credentials we do not actually hold.

Where data and figures come from

• Vehicle specifications, VIN decoding, and manufacturer recalls: the official NHTSA vPIC databases. vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov
• Reference fuel-economy figures: the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency data set. fueleconomy.gov
• OBD2 fault codes: the SAE J1979 standard and the generic (Pxxxx) code definitions.
• Parts and labour costs: market ranges aggregated from publicly listed parts prices and workshop labour rates, always shown as a range — never as a quote.

How we calculate cost ranges

Every estimate = (part price × quantity) + (standard labour hours × your market's hourly rate) + a consumables allowance. The low end assumes aftermarket parts at an independent shop; the high end assumes OEM parts at a dealership. SAR/USD conversion uses an approximate fixed rate, so treat all figures as guidance rather than final.

Review and updates

Every page shows a visible last-updated date. Cost pages and calculators are reviewed when parts prices or labour rates shift, and articles are updated when new technical information appears. Pages that are not yet deep enough are excluded from search indexing until we finish them, rather than published as thin content.
