DriveMet
Privacy Policy
This explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how you can delete it.
Data we collect
When you create an account: your email and optional name. When you use the dashboard: your vehicle data (make, model, year, VIN if entered, odometer), maintenance tasks, service logs and costs, and calculations you save. When you enable alerts: your browser push subscription and a simplified device label.
How we use it
Your data is used only to run the service: computing service due dates, sending maintenance and recall reminders, and saving your estimates. We do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising. A VIN is sent to NHTSA only to retrieve vehicle and recall information.
Emails and alerts
Account emails (signup confirmation, password reset) and maintenance summaries are sent from our own domain. You can disable email or mobile alerts at any time from the notifications page, or unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any email.
Who controls the data
The data controller for DriveMet is the site owner, Saeed Jamal; requests about your data go to info@drivemet.com. We never ask for a national ID, bank card number, or your precise location, and we do not collect data about children — the site is intended for adult vehicle owners.
Cookies and advertising
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember the language, currency, and country you chose. Because the site is ad-funded, our advertising partners (Google AdSense and Ezoic) and measurement tools (Google Analytics and Google Ads) may set cookies or identifiers to serve ads and measure performance, under their own privacy policies. You can block third-party cookies in your browser settings and control Google ad personalisation from Google's Ads Settings page.
Third parties that process data
- Our hosting, database, and authentication provider: stores your account and dashboard data, encrypted in transit.
- NHTSA (U.S. Department of Transportation): receives only the VIN or make/model/year to return specifications and recalls — no personal data about you.
- Our email delivery provider: processes your address to deliver account emails and maintenance summaries.
- The browser push service: delivers notifications to your device using the subscription you created.
How long we keep data
We keep your account data and service logs for as long as your account exists, since they are what drives your service-due dates and cost history. Notification delivery logs are kept for a short period to prevent duplicates and measure delivery success. When an account is deleted, its associated data is deleted with it.
Deletion, control, and your rights
You can delete any vehicle, log, or saved calculation straight from the dashboard, and turn email or mobile alerts off from the notifications page. You may also request a copy of your data, a correction, or full account deletion: email info@drivemet.com from the address registered on your account and we will action it. If this policy changes, the updated text will appear on this page.
